Tour Package: 8 Days, Beijing - Chengde

9 nights of 4-star hotel accommodation (Beijing 6N, Chengde 3N) with 8 days of sightseeing.

Day 1-5

Tour Beijing as outlined in 5 DAYS, BEIJING

Day 6

This morning we take a 5-hour train-ride to Chengde, a tourist destination 230 km from Beijing that is surrounded by mountains, rivers and forests. Upon arrival we will escorted to the Yunshan Hotel. After a Chinese lunch we visit Bishushanzhuang, "Summer Resort Mountain Villas", which is the largest extant imperial park in the country.

Day 7

Today we go to visit the Universal Peace Temple first. The Tibetan-style architecture was erected by Qing emperors. Then we take you to the Putozongsheng Temple, the largest of the "Eight Outer Temples" in Chengde, modeled on the Potala Palace in Tibet. After lunch we take the cable car up the Mountain-Hammer Peak to have a bird's-eye view of the vicinity.

Day 8

After visits to the local universities and villages in the morning, we take the train back to Beijing in the afternoon.

Day 9

Free in the morning and afternoon. Peking-Duck dinner.

Day 10

Transfer to airport for flight home.
