Tour Package: 13 Days, Yangtze River: Beijing - Xi'an - Chongqing Yangtze Cruise - Wuhan - Hong Kong

 

13 day tour with 4-star hotel accommodation. Beijing (4N) - Xi'an (2N) - Chongqing Yangtze Cruise (4N) - Wuhan (1N) - Hong Kong (2N).

  Day 1 Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, you will be escorted and transferred to hotel. In the afternoon, we visit the Tiananmen Square, the largest of its kind in the world. Then we go to see the Temple of Heaven.

  Day 2 Beijing

A full day tour to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Built by Emperor Qin Shi Huang in 214 BC the Great Wall is the only man-made structure that can be seen from the moon. After visiting the Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried, we travel back to the city in the late afternoon.

  Day 3 Beijing

After breakfast we leave for a full day sightseeing to the Forbidden City, the imperial palace. It was from here that the emperors of Ming(1368 - 1644) and Qing(1644 - 1911) ruled China. In the afternoon we have a short stop at the Zoo to see the panda and then continue our trip to visit the beautiful Summer Palace, the traditional summer residence for the emperors built in 1750. We will enjoy a Peking Duck banquet in the evening.

  Day 4 Beijing - Xian

Morning is free. In the afternoon we fly to the ancient capital of Xi'an and, on arrival, visit the City Wall before checking our hotel for the night.

  Day 5 Xi'an

We first visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Bell Tower. An optional evening performance of excellent Tang Dynasty song and dance is available.

  Day 6 Xi'an

The tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China, is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the century. Guarding the burial place is a huge Terra-cotta Army of 6,000 life-size figures individually crafted and complete with chariots and horses. It is an unforgettable sight. We also visit the Neolithic Village of Banpo and Huaqing Hot Springs Palaces where pagodas and temples are set round a small lake spa.

  Day 7 Chongqing

We take an early flight to Chongqing and visit the Old City, Artists' Village, and Eling Park. Transfer to the 4-star Regal Yangtze Cruise and enjoy the captain's welcome banquet. (BLD)

  Day 8 Yangtze Cruise

The ship departs from Chongqing in the morning as the river scenery delights our eyes. With the narratives of the Yangtze River and a host of activities on board, we arrive in Fengdu, the City of Ghosts. We stop for a shore excursion before continuing to the mountain town of Wanxian. (BLD)

  Day 9 Yangtze Cruise

Today we enter the Three Gorges, beginning with the Qutang Gorge, as you view the sheer cliffs and towering peaks. We dock to take the smaller boats to travel to the Lesser Three Gorges along the Daning River. Late this afternoon, we return to the Regal cruise to traverse the Wu Gorge and the fabled Twelve Peaks.

  Day 10 Yangtze Cruise

We begin the day with an exciting passage through the rushing rapids and winding channels of the Xiling Gorge. We pass the ship lock of the Gezhouba Dam and go ashore in Shashi to visit the Jingzhou Museum and the ancient City Wall of the Three Kingdom Period. (BLD)

  Day 11 Wuhan

We dock this morning and visit the Yueyang Tower by the beautiful Yueyang Lake. Return to the boat and continue to sail to Wuhan where we are transferred to the 4 star hotel. (BL)

  Day 12 Hong Kong

We take the morning flight for Hong Kong where we stay at the 4 star hotel. (B)

  Day 13 Hong Kong

We have a full day to explore the city of Hong Kong. A city tour including the Victoria Peak, the junks and sampans of Aberdeen Harbor, Causeway Bay, etc. is available. (B)

  Day 14

Transfer to airport for flight home. Extra stay is available.
