Fun Chinese Lessons - 6:
Be Nice
It pays to be nice to people. Especially when you find yourself in a foreign land
where your survival depends on other people's good will.
Below are a few Chinese words of politeness that you can use.
 | Ni hao | How are you? | | Xie xie | Thank you. | | Dui bu qi | I'm sorry. | | Mei quan xi | It's all right. | | Gun dan | Roll away like an egg!
(Get lost!) |
The last phrase, of course, is NOT to be used
as an expression of endearment. It is to be used when you decide you don't
want to be nice anymore. We all lose it once in a while, so there it
is.
